Arusha National Park is about 40Km from Arusha city center. Arusha region as it is very famous safari center region where all good things start (and END)

Formerly Known as Ngurudoto Crater National park until 1967 but now the park known as Momela/Arusha National Park which covers an area of 137 square kilometers. It is located on the slopes of mount Meru which appear over nearby Arusha town, and has a spectacular view of its big neighbor Mt. Kilimanjaro. The park and town derive their name from the Waarusha people who live in this area to date.

The Ngurudoto crater, Momela Lakes, the highland mountain forest, and the rugged Mt.Meru about 4,575 meters above sea level) are the distinctive features of the park. Colobus monkeys, velvet monkeys, bushbucks, buffaloes, red forest duikers, hippos, elephants, and giraffes are found here, Birdlife especially waterfowls is abundant.
